Salgaa

Salgaa is a town in Kenya, East Africa along the Nakuru Eldoret highway. Its about 180 km from the capital city Nairobi. Salagaa town started as a pit stop for truck drivers as they are destined for Kampala, Kigali and other countries. This infers that Salgaa town serves drivers from the East African countries as they ferry goods within the region.

The drivers park their trucks alongside the road and take refreshments or spend the night in Salgaa. over the years, this has sprouted businesses in the town with a major focus in the lodging and bar businesses. Consequently, prostitution became the main income earner for the locals. This type of trade became popular and the neighbouring communities were influenced, forcing young girls out of school and any other unemployed girls would consider prostitution to puit the food on the table.

Ngata Africa Gospel Church,Ngata (Ngata AGC) situated in Ngata farm started a ministry to the people living in Salgaa, to spread the word of God, teach and empower the local community in alternative income generating activities to dissuade them from drugs, crime and prostitution.
The distance between Ngata AGC and Salgaa is about 14km. The church is liasing with a local social centre to identify the needy people and is planning visitations ever Wednesday of the week. At 9am each Wednesday, the group meets at a Voluntary Counselling Centre in Salgaa for Bible study for about an hour.

With the guidance of the local social workers, visitations are made to the homesteads to check on their progress and document them.

This blog is meant to share information with you, and form a forum where you can support this ministry.

Ngata AGC is committed to help transform the lives of people living in Salgaa and advance the gospel according to the great commission.
